Shel Silverstein
Shel Silverstein is one of my favorite authors/poets of all time. What I like best about his website is how it provides lesson plans for all of his books. I found this very useful, and I hope all the other Silverstein fans enjoy it as well!
Social Studies for Kids
I love Social Studies and I love this website! There is an endless amount of information on this site - they have every single category that fits the Social Studies curriculum. In my opinion, everything you need to know about elementary social studies is in this website.
Core Standards
This is something I think every teacher should be accessible too. These are the core standards for K-5 (english, math, science, history) I know for a lot of classes we have to use these and become well aware of them - this has been very helpful for me.
Live Journal
When I was in Middle School my english professor recommended me to get a livejournal. Having a livejournal influenced me to love writing and reading. It's a fun way of writing and it is really easy to be creative without even knowing it.
National Geographic for Kids
This is such a fun website to visit even though it is directed towards children. It is exactly like National Geographic except for children. This is a great website to introduce to your students because of the detailed information it provides.
Biographies
I just came across this website the other day when I was searching for biographies. This website already supplies a lot of good people to write about and it gives so much information about the person. I wish I knew about this earlier, it sure would have saved me a lot of time!
Technology in the classroom
This 4th grade teacher demonstrates how using technology during her Social Studies lesson can be truly beneficial. It is so neat to see how the students can all interact at once while they take a field trip to "Yellow Stone National Park."
Eric Carle
Eric Carle played an important role in my life when I was young. I loved his art and I loved it when my parents/teachers read me any of his books. Like Shel Silverstein's website, Eric Carles page contains a numerous amount of assignments you can do with your students. This would be a great arts and crafts assignment for your students.
Dr. Seuss
What is the first thing you think of when you think elementary literature? Dr. Seuss! For every school I observed in so far, they have a devoted "Dr. Seuss week/month." This website contains so much information that can get your students involved with the topic. Students can spend hours on this site exploring the wonderful world of Seuss Land!
Map Skills
This is a fun game called Map Skills. This game takes your around the world and teaches you everything about the geography of the world. I played the free trial and I gained so much knowledge already. Kids would eat this up - it is so much fun and students will learn so much.

Can you say having fun while learning?!
Cupcake Birthday Project
I found this on a website and thought it was a great idea! I feel like you can get real creative with this. This would be a great thing to have on your wall in the classroom.
